Family member was driving the truck and accidentally put it into manual shift mode, she was unaware and revved it up too the point the water pump exploded. Truck has 102k km and warranty is 100k so well sent what happens :/

I'm surprised the water pump just blew up though? I'm sure she had the engined revved pretty good for an extended period, but still, for it to just blow? maybe it was already starting to go?

 

Probably just a coincidence, the engine and trans computers would prevent a true over rev with a limiter. They are made to protect the engine from that kind of damage.
