Sorry man you made the mistake a lot of people do when they get a V6. They see the HP ratings compared to the Hemi and think, oh it's not that much more and I'll save money on fuel. In the long run you don't get that much better MPG and you always want a Hemi. But what makes the difference, especially with a heavy rig like the D, is the TQ. That is where the Hemi can't be beat. I have not towed with this rig yet but I would not hesitate to at all. IMO all V6 and 4 cylinders should just be boosted. It's tough to get TQ out of small displacement without some help. And yes use the tow/haul button. It's there for a reason.

[QUOTE= Also considering maybe just going to the Ram 1500 truck with the Hemi? Durango hemi and 1500 with a hemi comparable as far as towing?[/QUOTE]

No comparison, the Ram's Hemi makes more HP and Torque due to its intake design and tuning, and more importantly the RAM is available with 3.92 gears. I've test driven the RAM Hemi 8 spd with 3.4?'s, and with the 3.92's and there is a huge difference between the two RAM'S even, but both felt like they would easily out pull my DD Hemi even though I feel that my DD Hemi does fine with the factory tow package (wish it had the 3.92's available though).
