so I'm laying plans to redo my brakes soon. from my research the OE pad material is ceramic. I have the Tow Package with 350mm front rotors and vented rear rotors

so far I'm looking at the PowerStop kits with drilled and slotted rotors and Z23 pads, like this.

I don't want to do the Brembo upgrade. I'm sure that would stop awesome but I'm not looking to go that route.

what are you guys running for brakes?

 

You don't need drilled rotors unless you are running auto cross. They crack. If you insist in spending more than is required, dimpled and slotted.

 

I totally agree. I would prefer just slotted actually. but I'm finding much better deals on this PowerStop combo than buying the just slotted rotors.

OEM rotors are going to be better quality than any aftermarket and I would suggest sticking to that setup. As far as pads I've had amazing results with the Hawk HPS pads on my '12 R/T. On stock rotors it will lock the tires on command and I've yet to experience any brake fade. I live in East Tennessee where the roads are all hilly and lots of twistys and I'm not easy on it. Just my $.02...

 

what about brake dust or noise with the Hawk pads?

 

No noticable noise after the bed in period and dust isnt terrible but I also have black wheels and wash the truck regularly.

 

Semi metallic pads will be a better choice than ceramic, specially if you tow.

 

what brand do you use and where do you get them?

 

i run ebc yellow stuff on my ford expedition, and i have ebc yellow stuff to put on my durango after my hawk pads wear out. The hawk pads are a bit underwhelming.
Yellow stuff doesn't seem to last as long, i think mine are shot after 20k on my expedition. But it gave me a better brake feel then my durango with brembo/hawk pads

 

How many miles are you guys getting out of your pads that your going on third sets? I'm at 65k and have yet to replace the front pads or rotors. I am not a gentle driver by any means.
