2015 RT, grinding in manual mode
I have a 2015 RT, I noticed today that when in manual mode, if I'm under heavy acceleration and upshift in manual mode, I get a grinding sound from the back.
I'll start in 1st, get to about 5-6k rpms, and shift and will hear the grind as it upshifts. Does it in 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd. Doesn't do it in automatic mode.
Has anyone seen something like this? I'm kinda confused why it would only happen in manual mode....

Technically speaking, it's either caused by back pressure in the exhaust system (which is the case here) or unburnt fuel getting into the exhaust and igniting with a fresh air source and heat from the exhaust (common cause if the popping is during deceleration).
Nothing wrong with it. Enjoy it. It only happens in manual mode because you don't get that high of RPMs in automatic unless you're really pushing it.
Grounds for divorce.
