I have an issue with my 2011 durango citadel 5.7 Hemi spuddering when Im slightly applying gas padal at around 45-65 mph. This has been an issue since I purchased it with 60,000 miles on it and there is no check engine light on and I have had it to 2 different dealerships to look at it and they tell me that it is common and that it is because it is the module that switches it from 6 to 8 cylinders. I have test drove 2 other identical vehicles to see if they do the same thing and they do not. I have asked many people about this with no luck. I have had the fuel pump recall taken care of and same issue still. It does not ever stall but it is driving me nuts. Feels like Im driving a clunker which sucks cause I am almost at 100,000 miles and will have no warrenty left. Any advise?

With my exhaust, the MDS system is obvious when it changes 4/8 it's like two different cars.

He said his is a 2011, that TSB is for 2012-2013. Search this forum for "fish bite" there was a Star case and several threads on this.

Fish bite.. Fill the tank with 93 once and see if its better? if so it's fish bite.

 

Try a can of SeaFoam

 

Don't waste your money or time buying additives to add to your tank of gas. I tried every brand of additive and the 2012 DD still had the "fish bite" at freeway speeds issue.


The only way I got the "fish bite" to go away, was by getting the flash/software update. Call your dealership and or FCA to find out if a flash/software update is needed and will fix the "fish bite" problem.

 

Maybe there is a vacume leak? Where is the last time you cleaned the IAC?
