Default Evaporator Seal Replacement

Should I be getting all crazy about an evaporator seal replacement?

2011 DD V6 Crew. 65,000 miles. Phoenix, AZ

Dealership says $1,349 and they have to remove the dash to fix. This is the first customer pay repair I've had to do on the vehicle. Dealership is providing a nice mini van to drive while the repair is being completed (I think that is classy).

Previously had ALL the warranty work done, plus right side valve cover gaskets and O2 sensors (twice, which scares me) covered by warranty.

Love the ride and features of the SUV, just concerned.

Any thoughts out there?

Did you try one of those seal in a can things first? Probably a long shot, but it just may work.

FYI. Dodge installed a brand new evaporator. For reference...$1349.
