2016 Durango Update
Just spoke to my dealer about ordering a 2016 Durango. He said he can't. Not making them anymore. Being replaced with Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
Is this true? Any more info on this?

Jack (Dodgecares) on here told me orders start Nov. 4th. 2016 brochure is on the Dodge site. Your dealer is just lazy and misinformed. Buy it somewhere else then when you get it go visit him. Haha
I can confirm that this is incorrect information, mactruck. We are making a 2016 Durango. You can download the vehicle brochure on dodge.com: https://www.dodge.com/assets/pdf/bro...016durango.pdf
Yeah, you're dealer is an idiot. Never rely on dealers for info regarding models or vehicles. They don't know jack and are often too lazy to stay informed anyway. My guess is that he realized he couldn't order one yet and just jumped to the conclusion that the model is now dead. All because of these unsubstantiated rumors coming from really nowhere credible, but have somehow taken hold on the internet. It's a great example of misinformation and false rumors becoming "fact" because they keep getting repeated. There should probably be a pinned thread at the top of this forum debunking this supposed rumor that the Durango is dead.
Durango is set for a refresh in 2017 along with the Grand Cherokee, hence the shortened model year for 2016 (but be aware of the delay noted below, which could put it back 1 year). It's not going anywhere. Even with the Grand Wagoneer being planned, it still won't go anywhere as the Grand Wagoneer is going to be a luxury SUV in the mold of the Escalade and other high end, expensive luxury SUVs. It's not going to be offered to the same market as a Durango. It's probably going to be a vehicle that STARTS in the $60-$70k range.
Best case scenario for FCA is a Grand Wagoneer starting to be built in 3rd quarter of 2018, but rumors have it that since Sergio has been trying to court partners for collaborative efforts, he has also been delaying projects in an attempt to appear as a better suitor (projects require use of cash reserves and additional debt and low cash reserves and additional debt means you're not a good company to partner with). He's already put a number of projects and refresh on hold for a year so don't expect a Grand Wagoneer to come as soon as planned. Probably will be pushed back at least 1 year.

"In its 2014 investor briefing, FCA said the redesigned Grand Cherokee would be introduced in fall 2017 and the new Grand Wagoneer in fall 2018. Suppliers told Reuters this week that the Grand Cherokee introduction now may be delayed by up to a year, while the Grand Wagoneer's launch could slip even further."
