Will advise long term how this holds up.

And my problem is back. This morning the exact same rough downshift started happening again (it had been absolutely fine all week).

My 2016 Durango has this problem. I took it to the dealer and they kept it for two weeks! No rental, nothing!
It worked for fine about a week when I finally got it back but the clunk in the down shift came back. I’m looking to get a new car because of it.

Actual text from the service order:
Test drove vehicle confirmed concern. No TCM or PCM software available. Checked fluid found trans fluid burnt and metal debris. Performed digital imaging. Needs transmission assembly per 8 speed tutorial. Flashed TCM to P#68249346AE. Performed TCM adaptation procedure. Test drove vehicle. Verified repair.

Parts:
R8271014-AA, Pkg part 21002005 MOPAR REMAN 8 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
According to RockAuto, this is a transmission rebuild kit, including torque converter

Will advise long term how this holds up.

Hey just wondering if your vehicle is doing better? I'm currently sitting at the dealership with same issue. Are you in Canada??

Unfortunately, about 2 weeks after having the transmission replaced it was back to the same rough shifting. I've done a bit of varied driving since then, including a long (1000 mile) highway trip. Nothing has made it "learn" to shift correctly.

I've been monitoring a few other forum users across multiple forums with the same problem. Some are getting new valve bodies, some are getting new transmissions. So far no lasting results.

BTW - I'm in California.

Mine goes back to the dealer again this Monday. See what happens when I get it back.

I bought a brand new 2019 R/T on Tuesday. Truck had 24 miles when I pulled out of the lot and I noticed this problem when I came to the first red light after leaving the dealer. It did it several times periodically throughout the first day of ownership and some on the second day. I didn't really notice it yesterday. But after reading this thread, looks like it's a waste of time going back and forth to the dealer to fix it. Been there, done that. This is why I lease these trucks.

Oh man that sucks!
When I was at the dealer last for this same issue there was a guy in the service department for the same problem who bought his car just the day before. His also was a 2019. I hope Dodge fixes this problem quick because I really want a new 2021 Durango but if this problem continues I will go back to a Tahoe.

Mine seems to have smoothed out, at least for now.
