Default 2013 r/t tpms

Getting new tires Tuesday under Mopar 4 for 3 sale. OEM Goodyears have 48k on them. Performed well and have a lot of tread left, but getting noisy and a little hard. Anyway, same tires $680.00 out the door. Forgot to ask the dealer about the TPMS. Googling produces a variety of opinions about battery life, etc. Anyone with any first-hand experience with these when replacing tires? Thanks.

Should not have to do anything. Whoever is installing your new tires will be able to tell you what you will need to do (if anything).

I recently had new tires installed on my 2011 Durango Hemi and asked about replacing the TPMS sensors since they were over the 5 year old mark. The writer at the Discount Tire store I was at recommended that if I wasn't having erroneous readings/errors from the TPMS sensors, not to replace them. He said the cost of new sensors, which may still have years of service in them, would far exceed the cost to replace one later once the battery goes dead. There wouldn't be much "double labor" to change a sensor in 1-2 years versus replacing all four while the tires were getting changed out. That was right around a year ago and the sensors are all still working fine.
