Default New Recall?

i just received an email from the NHTSA that states the following:NHTSA Recall ID Number:

17V572Manufacturer: Chrysler (FCA US LLC)Subject: Incorrectly Installed Brake Booster ShieldMakeModelModel YearsDODGEDURANGO2011-2014JEEPGRAND CHEROKEE 2011-2014.

When I entered my VIN, the only open recall I have on my 2011 DD Crew is for the alternator issue, not this one. Anyone else receive this initial recall notice from NHTSA or even from Chrysler? I suspect the NHTSA email precedes notices that Chrysler will eventually issue.

It's been in the news that FCA is re-recalling all Jeeps and Durangos because of incidents of improperly installed brake booster shields. There was at least one accident that resulted from an improperly installed shield (according to news). FCA wants to re-inspect previous installations and correct those improperly installed.

Isnt this really only an issue where they salt the roads and vehicles return to the earth frequently?

It's best to have your local Dodge dealer check in person to be safe. I recomend just going when you're due for an oil change or any up comming service so it's not as bother some.
