Default Detailing

I am getting a car from another dealership that is in another state so I can only judge by the pictures on their site. The dealership is Car Max. My question is, the picture under the hood shows the engine cover with liquid splotches on it. This is a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan GT with 16K miles. Is that maybe from some kind of issue like some liquid leak or some issue that happened? Or am I looking too much into it, and it could just be from the dealership cleaning the cover? Thank you so much for your help!!!

Default Quick Question About Engine

Sorry, I know the model I'm asking about isn't a Ram, but it is just more of a general question and I was hoping I'd have better luck getting a response in the Dodge Ram thread, since there are more active posts. Default New Car Detailing Question For Dents

Thanks for any help! I got a used 2016 Durango yesterday and they said I could bring it back to be detailed, since they didn't get a chance to yet. They also said if there's any scratches, to let them know so they can buff it out. In the sun light, I noticed a small dent on the driver's side door, no chips in the paint though, probably from a door ding. Is this something that they can easily fix or considered part of detailing? I don't want to bring it to their attention if they're going to do any tricks with those plungers or whatever and make it worse. I don't expect them to hammer it out and repaint the whole door (the long way to do it). I guess my question is, is this something very simple to fix for them, and I should mention it? It's not that big of a deal to me, so I don't want them to make the dent worse, if it's possible for them to mess up. I would take a picture, but you can only catch it from a certain angle in the lighting, maybe like a 2.5 inch diameter dent. Thanks again for any help!!

Default Detail question

My contact at the dealership to get this done is the general manager and he wasn’t the most honest person. That’s why i wanted to ask on the forum since i actually trust you guys advice and opinion.

Hi JKeaton, thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate it. Like I expected when I don't trust these people, the worst happened today. Long story short, I dropped off my 2016 Durango today to let them detail it. This was part of the deal, since the general manager of that Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep dealership said he would not budge on the price advertised for the vehicle, but he would detail it for me since that will cost him "$500". I dropped it off today at 9:30am, and immediately they said they need to give me a loaner since it will take a long time. At 1:30pm, I get a call to come pick up the Durango since it's finished. I sit in traffic for 2 hrs and get there in the evening, and see that the car is not even washed on the outside and nothing was cleaned on the inside. I did tell them in the morning, that there was some tape on the front passenger window and some black tint that wasn't completely pulled off in that same window crack area. They said the detailer can take care of all of that perfectly. Anyways, some of the tape on the window was removed, but not all, and the black tint in the window crack was removed. I shined my flashlight on my phone and see that some places on that window had scratches, the weather strip had some grooves in it (prob from them trying to get in that crack to remove the pieces of tint), and the plastic black trim on the outside of the car that connects to the left side of the front passenger window had a whole bunch of scratches and finger prints. It clearly looked like some amateur worker at the dealership tried to remove the tape and pieces of tint on their own, during that time while I was at home waiting for their call to come back. The salesman helping us said that he wasn't there at the moment when they detailer guy came back to drop of the car after he was finished. I let them have it and told them everything about this situation that pissed me off and how wrong it was and how I don't trust them to do anything else to this vehicle that is mine now. They insisted that they can make everything better tomorrow and to trust them. Can a glass window be buffed out to brand new again with no scratches, without damaging the glass? I know the weather strip can't be touched up to look like how it looked before. Also, can that black plastic clear coated looking trim that I described earlier, scratches on it be buffed out without damaging that material? I know the actual paint on the body of the car can be buffed out, but I curious about the parts that I mentioned. It is just really bothering me since this is a new car to me, with a very high monthly payment because of the interest, so I want everything to be perfect (the way it was before I dropped it off today). Obviously, what would easily fix the problem would be to replace the passenger window, weather strip, and that one black trim piece, but that sounds like a lot of butchering to take apart on a nice newer car, dunno if I'm being paranoid since I think it won't be installed back on to the car perfectly. I'm pretty sure they won't even go out of their way to replace those parts. I'm sorry about the long explanation of the situation. From all of my questions and concerns that I mentioned, what is your opinion and input on everything? Thank you so much again for everything!
