Transmission problem
Driving up a hill (paved, not towing) suddenly it's like the trans has been shifted into neutral. No gears work (forward or reverse).
Is there anything else I can check without dropping the trans? I'm getting too old for this but can't afford to pay someone else to do it. Rebuilding it is easy. It's the removal and re-install that's the killer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Duane |
2 things come to me but both involve removing the pan 1st is the main filter goes directly into the bottom of the pump I have seen them fall out and cause a pressure loss second thing is on the side of the valve body is an accumulator cover the bolts like to break off if you remove the pan you should be able to see this

I've already pulled the pan, filters and valve body. Everything is where it's supposed to be. No loose hardware.
I did get the following code off it: P0750 Shift Solenoid 'A' P0700 Trans Control System |
2 Attachment(s)
with the p0750 code which in Chrysler manual is P0750-LR SOLENOID CIRCUIT if it was in my shop I would be putting a solenoid pack in vehicle and both the filters to do this you have to remove the valve body which is only like 8 8mm bolts since you already have the pan off take valve body down then there's a lot of t25 bolts that hold the pack on attached are pictures of the bolts

Thanks Brian. That supports my thoughts.
I already have the valve body out and the solenoid pack seperated. I checked the solenoids with an ohm meter and they check out but I know that's no guarentee that they will actually function. A remanufactured solenoid pack is under $150 so I figure it's a reasonable gamble. Duane |

the only thing I am concerned with is the whine when you install the main filter make sure the seal that goes into the pump is securely in place its #3 in the picture if your new filter comes with one don't install it on the filter first install it in the pump first then put your filter in it hope it works out ok for you let me know if it fixes it

I'm having a very similar issue with my 2006 Durango with the same configuration. I just replaced the solenoid pack and now the transmission won't shift into gear (reverse or drive). I'm not getting the whining sound that you are Duane. Were you able to get yours fixed?
