Default Front Blinker Out

Got a left front blinker out on my 2016 Durango R/T. Bought a new bulb from the dealer and it ended right there. Asked the service advisor to come out to help me, he ended up taking my car in back to have a tech do it but came out 15 minutes later saying it needed to stay because they have to take out the entire left front light module.
Also, he said that it was not covered under warranty, so I left.
My car is a 2016 with only 17,000 miles on it.

Is he correct on all this, can I do it myself or is it a way bigger job?

Thanks

Correct on it would not be covered by warranty. Bulbs are considered consumables, like brake pads and tires.

Just left another Dodge dealer and the service advisor took it in back to the tech, came back 5 minute later with it replaced and working. No charge!
Thank you Tustin Dodge in Orange County, CA
