hi
i have a 2015 AWD limited 3rd generation durango, yesterday for the first time my lift gate open correctly, but when i went to close it , it goes all the way down then stops and opens back up as if something is obstructing it..but its not..then it would just open back up, so i just pushed the bottom again to close it and once it got to that point again i just pushed it down to lock ..has anyone had this issue if so what is the fix..before going to the dealer

Nope. Take it in and use your warranty.

 

If you determine that nothing is obstructing the gate from closing, it may just need the "tailgate module" flashed.

My 2011 was exhibiting similar symptoms and doing all sorts of wacky things, but basically it would never pull itself closed all the way when closing by itself. The dealer flashed the tailgate module and all was well. It still surprises me to this day how a module needing an update can mimic a purely mechanical problem. Oh well. Something to consider if you do go to the dealer, ask for them to try that first.
