Yep, you'll be okay with the Pentastar, it's a great engine. Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the club!

I don't have any regrets on my 2011 DD Express V-6, I have 180,000 miles on it and it still runs and goes great! I'm not looking to get anything else for a long time. What a great winter vehicle too!

Hi there, are these interference engines? Does a timing belt/chain need to be changed? thanks.

Default Interference Engine

The Pentastar V6 is an interference design; it has valve reliefs but only for clearance under normal conditions. It does have a timing chain, reducing the possibility of heavy damage from a snapped belt. I also understand that it uses four chains for long life.
