Default Fumoto and 2017 RT

I had a Fumoto oil drain valve on my 2013 RT and no issues. Bought the same thing from the manufacturers website and installed today. Immediate leak. The body of the valve contacts the pan before a seal can be made and prevents proper torque so oil leaks from between the washer and the pan. Frustrating. Had to drain oil again and switch back to bolt. Waste of time and money.

Anybody else have the same issue? Used the F106s as directed by the manufacturer. Same as the 2013. Maybe the specs changed for the valves.

i dont have any experience with the fumotos, i use no-spill drains on all my vehicles, never had a problem with the fit, as long as the threads are correct i dont see what would cause interference before the shoulder hits the pan. give the seller a call and tell them its defective.

Contact the manufacturer, They would be best able to assist you.

Sounds like you need this adapter: Fumoto ADP-106 14mm-1.5

Yeah, that was their solution. For $6 I'll give it a try. Worried it's gonna raise the profile of the valve and increase the risk of it hitting something. Gonna deal with it on the next oil change. Not happy about having to pull it off after filling the oil back in. The manufacturer should have listed this adapter as being needed for this vehicle. Why have drop down menus when they aren't accurate?

if your worried about clearance under the vehicle you could just go with one of these (i have one in each of our 3 cars)

https://www.nospillsystems.com

i have compact drain valves on everything for the maximum clearance possible.

Let them know. Vendor websites are seldom 100% accurate.
