Default Liftgate opens and closes but wont latch..

When I close the liftgate it will cycle the actuator but wont latch closed. I saw in a previous post that there was a tsb for reprogramming/reflashing the power control module but it wss for 2010 to 2012 model Durango. Mine is a 2014 RT. Took it to a dealer who insisted it's not because it needs reflashed but instead needs a new latch. So I ordered one and installed it. (3 bolts and an electrical plug in)still wouldnt work. Took it to the dealership again. They claimed the new latch is faulty as well? Then they attempted to put their own (verified as working via bench test) latch in and it didnt work either!? I've suggested trying the reflash several times and have been rebutted each time! They are now trying to say it's my power liftgate struts that are keeping it from working? But, in my opinion, those would not keep the latch from working, especially if I closed it manually? I just spent $1600 on getting 2 lines to the ac replaced and really dont have the money to keep throwing parts at this issue until they get it figured out! Does anyone know of a current tsb for the 2014 durangos with this issue or any other suggestions? (Just lubing the latch didnt work either, nor did disconnecting/reconnecting the battery to reset it....)help!!??

I am having the exact same issue with my 2016 RT after I had the rear window replaced my SafeLite. It worked fine before then but they bought and replaced the latch and lift arm. It was working fine when I picked it up from them after the repairs were done but then yesterday out no where it didnt latch anymore. Someone told me maybe the latch itself it not positioned correctly but I doubt that because the 3 screws are pre-positioned already so I'm not sure what the issue may be,

Sounds exactly like the issue that I was having! After taking it to the dealership two times and paying about $400 for it to be "diagnosed", they wanted to replace the liftgate struts for another $900+ dollars! I decide to take it apart and diagnose it myself instead. So I removed the latch ( only 3 screws/bolts and an electrical adapter plug on my 2014 durango) and started trying to close and open the latch...I eventually had a piece of glass fall out when I turned it upside down while opening/closing it! Turned it upside down and continued to activate it and ended up getting three pieces of glass out of the latch and it was working once more. I decided to check it a bit more and noticed considerable wear on some parts of the latch itself so looked it up online and ordered a new one from autozone for about a hundred bucks and installed it myself in about 15 minutes and it has worked perfectly ever since! (BTW, I had just purchased the vehicle and the dealership found pieces of glass in the liftgate panel but I guess they didnt think to check for any in the latch? It must've been broken by previous owner at one point...) Hope this helps you! It saved me $800+ on liftgate struts that still wouldn't have fixed my issue...
