Default Power steering fluid?

Ok, I will admit. Wife’s ride. Had free services that finally used up. I’ve never popped the hood, lol. Anyways, just did first oil change. Checked all fluids and I’ll be dam. The power steering fluid reservoir looks empty. No warning lights on dash. Owners manual doesn’t list it in fluid specs. Hmmm...
no leaks on driveway...ever. I bought some fluid but before I add thought I would ask here. I kinda thought it was electric PS.
there is no weeping on the lines leading from the reservoir and it looks to be plumbed to the motor unit.
what gives?
im not a beginner just never looked at her car before.
