Default Liftgate problems

2013 Dodge Durango R/T Lift gate not opening. I have done the search, most have had issues with the gas strut.

My issue is none of the buttons, or remote will open it. I have removed the latch motor, opened the liftgate manually. I took it into a Dodge dealer they told me to replace the Latch assembly, claiming it was seized. the only way to use the emergency open is to remove the motor from the latch then it can be opened. Because they told me that the latch is seized I had them order one, $350 +. I change it in their parking lot, went in and told them it didn't work NO technician there on Saturday.

I also own a 2015 Jeep, I have traded parts between the 2 all of her parts, latch. power liftgate strut and module the only part from my Durango that wouldn't lift the jeep gate was the module.

For the time it takes I would try a reset on all electronics. Disconnect battery. Hold positive and negative cables together to drain residual power. Reconnect. Good luck

I have disconnected the battery, I don't remember how long I had it disconnected though.

Can you measure whether the module and/or latch are getting power when actuating the FOB or lifting the handle to open the lift gate? Back in '86 I had a station wagon that had intermittent or non functioning rear window lift. Since the wagon was new, the dealer replaced the front switch, then motor and that didn't solve the problem, so I decided to follow the wiring through the back lift gate, hinge and rear side panel and found that the harness connector inside the side panel had one of the snap pins broken off. Every time I opened the lift gate the connector pivoted and lost connection. I taped the connector together and newer had a problem again through the life of the car.

If all else is good but you're not getting power, then it could be the harness, fuse or the corrupted program on the computer module that sends the signal - thus the computer reset.

Does the module from the Jeep open the Durango liftgate? I'd suggesting confirming you have good power to the module connector before plugging the working Jeep unit in. If the Jeep module works, I think you've conclusively proven the issue reside with the liftgate module. Without trying the Jeep module in the Durango you might still have an issue where there is some programming or other compatibility issue between the Durango's module and the Jeep.

The module from the Jeep did not open the the gate on the Durango but I put it back in the jeep and that still works fine.

So the dealer had me purchase the "latch" claiming it was seized. I replaced it and it still didn't work. next trip to dealer I was told it was the module. I replaced the module and now it works..
