Default Replaced Headlight bulbs, Lights still dont work. (Dodge durango 2013)

Hey all,

I'm a new owner, and kind've a novice. My lights went out recently on both the passenger and driver side. I replaced the bulbs, but they still don't work. Do i need to have them locked into place for them to work? I believe they are just wanted to know if if that could be an issue.

Outside that what would be a good way to begin trouble shooting the issue? Any ideas?

Thanks for your help

Very seldom both bulbs fail simultaneously. The problem may be in the wiring, switch, relay or fuse. Start the easiest way by first checking the associated fuses (download owner's manual from the internet if you don't have one to see which fuses and relays apply to the lights), then check the relays, and so on.

I agree that it's rare for both bulbs to fail at the same time. I'd also suggest trying the high beam setting to see if the high beams work. How about the taillights, do they light up when the headlight switch is in the On position? And make sure you're trying the On position, not the Automatic position (assuming your Durango has auto headlights).

Do you know if your Durango has ever had front end damage? If so, ground wires for the headlights would be a real suspect for either a faulty connection or possibly corrosion. Do you own a multimeter or even a test light and have a basic idea on how to use it?
