Default 2021 SRT Durango hard downshifting

I recently purchased a ‘21 SRT Durango. It started having hard downshifts intermittently. Dealer says this is normal between sixth and fifth and sometimes between fourth and third. Any input on the forum would be greatly appreciated. The truck now has 4100 miles.

If the dealer says it's normal, then it's normal.

There's a sticky on transmission shifting problems with the A8 at the top of this very forum. Read it, see if it applies, and bring it up with the dealer. A lot of dealers will try and get you to accept that it's normal to avoid having to deal with warranty work, so you're going to either need to push them hard on it or find another dealer to look at it. Worse comes to worse, ask them to contact the area rep for Dodge for assistance, and most importantly document every call and save every email. And, review your state's lemon laws so you know what to do if it gets to that point. They have so many tries to resolve the problem before you can force a buyback. If they do, I can recommend not looking at the Tahoe for a replacement unless you enjoy driving sluggish, underpowered school buses (I traded a Tahoe for my Durango, so I know!) But, that sticky will probably get the problem fixed.
