trailer hitch
Great advice from everyone!
Right now the wife is winning. She frequently reminds me that if we get a trailer I'd have to learn how to back it up -- which has a long and colorful history in our relationship. Also storage would be a problem as we don't have the room at the house. "MORE expenses," she points out. Plus, furnishing the kitchen stuff from our local Goodwill wouldn't please her very much either. My dream is fading into the mists of infallible reason. Every week i dump some more cash into our supplemental retirement plan (AKA, the lottery) absolutely positive that this week is THE week. I've been wrong for 520 consecutive weeks. Hope springs eternal.

Space is the reason I sold my motorhome and haven't gotten a bigger one. Look at the ads and dream while you look your wife square in the eye, straighten your shoulders, plant your foot firmly on the ground and say "Yes, dear".
On backing a trailer, people often overthink that. When I ran a shop and salvage yard, I'd slip cars in the storage lot right in with 6 inches per side, no problem. When you go to back a trailer, say a small bumper pull utility trailer, pur your hand on the BOTTOM of the steering wheel. When you want the trailer to go left, move your hand to the left. Don't be afraid to pull forward and straighten if need be. Eventually, you'll be able to pull up and back a trailer right in.
I wouldn't be considering an RV at all if I weren't wanting it to be a full-time home. So, what you do is, you tell the wife you're going with plan B - a Hellcat and a hotel room. No backing it up, no storing a huge machine, and when you aren't traveling you still get to drive it.
