Default 2012 Durango RT AWD Low light in Dash

I have a 2012 Durango RT AWD 5.7. All of a sudden for the last several weeks the AWD low light has started flashing intermittently on the dash. I have the **** in the console always on auto and this still flashes on sometimes. I had it in for a recall several days ago and the dealer scannned it for codes and found nothing but naturally the light was not flashing at that time. If I move the selector **** to low it does go into AWD low but it won't go back to auto by moving the **** back. I know there are several things in the system for this but I was just trying to get some ideas to look for . Thanks.

Did you ever get resolution? My 2012 is doing the same thing after the transfer case was replaced.

Yes I did, the problem ended up being the transfer case switch in the console, I ordered a new one and replaced it myself and problem solved.
