2011 Durango, 187k miles, bought it used in December. Apl of a sudden last night after bf got home, I get in and start up to go to store-put it in drive and start rolling backwards! Thought I was bring crazy or imagining things, so put it in park and tried again but rolled backwards. Tried to put it in park, it still rolls. Turned key off with foot on the brake (if I let off it will roll!) Now it won't start, it's not trying to turn over just clicking sounds. There's no power steering, no brakes, won't turn over- yet all the lights, radio everything inside has power just fine. Blocked the wheels and applied the ebrake and unhooked battery until morning.. next morning, hooked battery back up, tried to start, wont turn over just clicks. Still no brakes, pwrsteer, ebrake.. tried the neutral safety switch thinking it was stuck in neutral, even tho shifter has been in ,D, R. N, P... still no change. The brakes do seem to feel less stiff than night before.. there's now an ETC light that comes on when trying to start, stays on for a few seconds in the on position, then goes away. No other lights, no dings, no codes when I tried on off on off on off technique. Can't afford a tow, and it's a Sunday.. no code reader yet, tho I've asked a few friends so hoping one pops up I can use...
anybody know what's wrong with it? Or have an idea?
