Default 2014 Durango AC Issue - "Hissing" not blowing very cold air

The AC on my 2014 Durango is making a "hissing" noise and the air is not getting very cold so based on some suggestions that I previously read, I bought a can of AC Pro.

After following the directions, the gauge is in the green so it doesn't appear that a recharge is required.

Has anyone else experience a similar issue or have suggestions on what to check?

Thanks in advance.

I've had the same thing happen and an AC recharge fixed it. I Get cold air now and the hissing has stopped. I've also learned that a lot of AC shops won't touch a vehicle that has used an off the shelf "AC Repair Kit" (different die color). There are a lot of restrictions with the handling of Freon and the proper way of servicing the AC system in the car.

I appreciate your response but when I checked the level using the gauge on the AC Pro recharge kit it's already in the "green" and I've read that you shouldn't recharge it past that point so it appears that's not the problem?

Going off the single gauge on the recharge kit can is not a very accurate way of gauging (pun intended) the condition of the A/C system. Does your 2014 Durango use the Y1234YF refrigerant? Do you hear the hissing under the hood or in the vehicle cabin? Is the compressor clutch remaining engaged for several seconds at a time? Are you getting good air flow from the vents, and have you checked the condition of your cabin air filter? Are you getting considerable condensation on the low pressure line when the A/C is turned on?

Thanks, Rod, you might be right... it's been a while since I've replaced the air filters.
