Default 2012 Durango check engine light

I have a 2012 Dodge Durango RT 5.7. A couple weeks ago the check engine light came on, I went to my local Orielly's store and had them scan it for codes , The code was for a vapor cannister purge solenoid that I purchased from them and installed myself. The problem that I am now having is getting the check engine light to stay off. If I disconnect the battery cable and let it reset the light goes off and everything is back to normal and it runs fine. What happens next is after a few days the light comes back on again. Is there another procedure to clear this code out of the system ? I'm stumped on this and I can't seem to find any further information. Thanks.

What was the code? Many times, just replacing a part does not solve the issue, more troubleshooting may be required.

In addition to understanding what code O'Reilly's originally read and if that's different from the current code, does the truck continue to run fine even when the check engine light is on, only only after you disconnect and reconnect the battery until the CEL comes back on?

Default Update

The original code was for the purge solenoid, sorry but I don't have the number for the code. After a few days the light came on again and I took it back and had it scanned again. This time the code is P0456 which is for a small leak in one of the lines. One of these lines that are hard plastic about fell apart in my hand at the connector, so I had to try best and put it together. I think I'm going to just replace the line all together, they aren't that expensive. This should hopefully solve the issue. Thanks for your time and response guys , it's very much appreciated.
