Missing steering assist sensitivity options post repair
I had my 2018 Durango in the shop, when I got it back the steering was stiff like it was in sport mode. I went into the radio settings for driving assistance and the setting that had three check boxes to select normal, sport, comfort is now non existent.
so I've brought it back, the shop manager who said he's never seen a Durango with this option. But he "looked it up", which I assume that's in a Dodge specific programer system. Said he couldn't find that. So I brought it to another dealership, same story.
my assumption is the computer has a list of things to enable. I know some of the older rams had to have the dealer enable the steering volume controls if you added the buttons to the steering wheel.
So does anyone know what I need to tell the dealer to get my feature back?
Mine absolutely had it, and others online definitely have it too. So clearly I didn't have some.hacked Durango.
if it matters, it's a GT AWD 3.6l

Reason: Add more details
Where are you located? Maybe someone in your area with AlfaOBD or bi-directional scan tool and a Security Gateway Module bypass cable would be willing to see if these are something that can be re-enabled.

I'm in the Truro area of Nova Scotia
Both dealers said they couldn't "find" anything in there system. Whatever that means.
I find it hard to believe that power steering assist settings just disappear. And then they also have no clue how to bring them back. If they can disappear, then they should also be something they can re-enable. Sounds like common sense to me.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery, wait about 10 minutes and re-connect again to re-set the computers? You should only need to disconnect the negative/ground side. After re-connecting I believe there is a method for driving for the computers to re-learn. Maybe someone else on this forum knows a bit more about the re-learn process.
I just saw that I'm shown as a "professional" under my user name; I'm no pro. I'll have see how to change that; I'm just a user.

Disconnecting the battery typically set the computer to relearn how you drive.
I don't think that would bring back steering sensitivity menu options.
And the dealer did have the battery disconnected already.

You're correct, resetting the computer is only for resetting learned sensor values/tables, not programmed options. And even then there seems to be some question as to whether all adaptive values get reset with a power disconnect versus using a high-end scan tool to reset the adaptive values / Keep Alive Memory (Fords).
