"2021 dodge roll away risk"
Hello Everybody,
I am creating this forum in hopes that anybody somebody has had a similar problem or is aware of this potential defect. The Back story i have a 2021 dodge Durango which I do believe has had some type of electrical or mechanical issues periodically since about a year and a half maybe from purchasing it. Some of these issues that are happening are stuttering for almost 30 seconds to a minute before the car fully turns on when pressing the break and ignition button. Also occasionally not accelerating appropriately no matter the force on the gas like a lag almost. As well Periodically the radio and dash may lose lights and power or the radio just cuts off. I say all that to get to the gritty my vehicle recently crashed its self ! yes i know sounds crazy sounds unreal but i really cant make this up if I didn't see it I wouldn't believe it either. The vehicle was in park stationary parked on a slightly sloped downward angle parking spot. I left the vehicle to run into the building and grab my child from daycare was in there almost 5 minutes before it actually crashed and yes the doors where locked. it was also 5 diagonal spaces from the building it ran into between a smaller size school bus and a jeep that would take slight precision to back out of clear without incident. But my vehicle literally REVERSED a quarter of a suburban block at 5:30 pm non stop bumper to bumper traffic going east and west 1 lane traffic avoiding many many moving and parked cars hopping a curb with a huge lip right on the inside of the curb you would think need acceleration to get over and proceed to to reverse into a store front window. As i am made aware of what is going on because i am still in the building at this point I rush to the vehicle to get it out of the window to avoid injury and the vehicle is still in park with the rear back up camera on! So after all the juicy stuff i am made aware that there is a such thing as a "2021 DODGE DURANGO ROLLAWAY RISK" you can google it and research it your self. Also after all this looking back my vehicle did this once before but move forward into a garage of a personal friend how brushed it all off and At that time i would have never believed anything like that could happen again until it DID! I did take my vehicle about 6months -a yr ago to the dealership for the stuttering as I was concerned for a electrical problem because it wasn't a starter or anything of that nature they held the car for about 4 days to try to detect the problem. However because it didn't do that while in there possession they could not detect a problem to fix. This "2021 DODGE DURANGO ROLLAWAY RISK" while stated is very usual is possible an the NSHTA is aware with 500 complaints submitted and no recorded accidents unless now I'm number 1. It also states that there is no formal recall because in basic word they can not fully detect the problem or how to fix it but are aware of this issue.
If your still reading thank you! I am at a lost and reaching out here to see if anyone has had a similar issue or has any information that can help me here. This accident is honestly not my biggest worry its driving my children around and something negative happening on due to a manufacturer defect.

When I leave the car with the engine running I got into the habit of always engaging the manual or electronic parking brake (my Durango has a manual and my Lincoln LS has an electronic parking brake). Over the years, even when cars had transmissions with linkages, there were incidents where the car dropped into reverse when left running unattended.
Some of the intermittent electronic/electric issues you describe could be related to a poor ground connection or a wiring plug connection to one of the control modules. I had an issue with the Lincoln LS in which the wipers turned on by themselves after starting the car, but only when my wife drove it; it never did it when I drove it. After replacing the turn signal module, which didn't resolve the issue, I decided to look into the control module that is located behind the side kick panel on the driver's side. I loosened and re-tightened the bolts securing it to the chassis and repositioned the wiring, after which the problem was solved; the wipers stopped turning on by themselves when my wife used the car.
