so I put the stock air manifold(?) back on, put the air temp back in its original position and added the filter to the end of that. The growl is not as loud but it seems to have more punch in the seat, i'll take it on hwy later to see if that has improved

also, that kinda defeats the purpose of the cai man, that hemi hat is the restrictive part.

I admire your creativity but why are you trying to go against what thousands of members and plenty of companies have established as the best route to make a CAI? I mean your saving what? like 10 bucks by not using a tube. And like Ewing stated the "hemi hat" (which is what you put back on) is the most restrictive part of the stock air intake. You'd be better off with the stock airbox and a tube going from the airbox directly into the TB

Oh, well, i will try that next. I just had some down time and wanted to tinker. Do you think i should go with the tube behind the pass headlight?

That looks like something I should do in the winter time. Because with my Volant, im getting way to much cold air, dropping my mileage.

There is some interesting readings on warm air intakes on the web. mainly a winter thing though.

why dont you just make your own? It costs like nothing in materials, and you've already got a filter.
