Bullydog is know to be a joke for gas trucks. What is the difference in GT? Some people love them but since your looking for power Super Chips has good tunes but your in the same boat as me,(we are limited to the tune we can have)

Hemifever or any other uncanned tune will relase more HP than any other Brand name Tunner.

BTW a programmer isnt a micacle it even the best ones can only do so much to the computer and can only change certian settings so dont be to bummed when you stick a Programmer on there and you still cant spin the tires shifting gears

But Diesel tuners on the other hand. Those things are miracles and unlock the full potential of diesel engines these days

So true for the gassers. On paper they look good but who drives their trucks at 4000-5000 rpms anyway. Probably the biggest change in the seat of your pants is when you can tune the shifting to allow you to stay in the right rpm range longer. Makes it seem like you have more power but all it does is use the ponnies you never thought you had. A nice set of gears will do wonders to keep it where you need it for everyday driving and towing alike.

Yeah after you spend all the money on a programmer and you install it you almost get mad that it didnt just burn the rubber off your tires, and like 08 Hemi said the Diesels programmer are the same price as ours but loads of difference with the power you gain.

On another Thread a Guy was talking about a hypertech, paid 500 for it and Hypertech got on the thread and said the 91 tune opened up 47 more HP...... and the 81 opened up like 30..... i wish

Default Which should I get?

I have a 2008 Ram 1500 stock 4.7 engine. I would like to get a little better mpgs and mostly want better (firmer) and quicker shifts. Right now it takes forever for it to actually shift once it starts and feels like it is going to fall on it's face when down shifting. It only has 12,000 mils.

CAI, a Programmer and a Transmission Line Booster, All very good Mods with out getting into the motor.

You arent going to get but maybe .5 of a MPG better with any thing you put on your truck.

As for your Tranny do you have any codes? Or is it as bad as you are making it to be?

I don't have any codes, just don't like the mushy feel of the shifts. I know in older transmissions mushy shifts didn't last as long as one with a nice crisp shift. When I worked in the chevy dealer we used to take out the wave plate and add flat plate, it would make it shift harder but the trans lasted longer.

Try some of these Mods The Tranny Line Booster Really Firms up Shifts, same with a Programmer, SC has the Trans Tune for an extra 45 bucks and ive heard nothing but good. Heck one guy on here even has it to shift by how far he presses the gas pedal.
