We are at a point with the advanced trans tuning where a date is set and I have been given that info but have been instructed to not release it till we know for sure that some final major hurdles get fixed that have been found by the great group of beta testers working with us.

What I can say is that our projections are definitely inline with a spring release providing everything is in order and it is safe to be distributed. Sil and I both both be Johnny on the spot with updates as they get closer and issues get resolved.

Truly good news Scott!

One thing I wanted to mention about this new trans option is, I feel I have better traction control on ice and snow - Here's why.

If you go back and look at my Stock Shifts and Shift Schedule-8 on page 185, you will see how I've set my upper-end shifts. I mentioned that, under light throttle, my truck will downshift from 5-4 and 4-3. Well last night into this morning we got just over 12" of snow. I had to take my wife to work at 04:45 and of course the plows were still sleeping... With stock shifting I'd have to apply more and more throttle to get my truck to downshift and then it would suddenly shift down and with the throttle at say 60-70% the additional torque would force it to break loose. Today I noticed that if I had to apply 25% throttle it'd downshift thus keeping the torque even through the shift giving me much better control on the ice and snow. Wink

Where do you have your shift points set on your 4.7? If you have them too high, that won't work. Set your shifts points around 5500 RPM or so and tweak from there.

ohhhhh ok gotcha awesome.

yea sil this is my set up

91 perf tune ....set tires at the height they are(measured from ground to top of tire and plugd that in)....rev limiter 6000....speed limiter 140 max...1-2 wot shift at 5400 and 2-3 shift at 5500

Howdy i am looking for a tuner to help with towing performance. I was looking at the superchips 3865 it seems to be the way to go. I did a google search looking for the 3865, brought me to cabelas where they have it listed for 300. Also they have the Cortex.
Whats the difference between the 3865 and the cortex?
Thanks

Functionally they're both the same.

The major differences between the Cortex 3950 and Flashpaq 3865 are these:
  • [*]
  • [*]
  • [*]

I see truckcustomizers.com http://www.truckcustomizers.co..._FLASHPAQ_Tuner.html has them for $285 with WINTER10 coupon code and free shipping.

Ok so I just joined yesterday. I did the newbie introductions and stuff. Want to say this site is great ! I am looking at the superchip flashpaq 3865. i have an 03 4.7. Now on the Superchips site it says you can't adjust rev limits or shift points but on here I am seeing people that are doing this so my question is ... Can you adjust shift points and rev limits with this model ?

Also who has the best prices? I've seen a few people that have gotten them shipped for about 300 dollars but don't recall where I saw this at.

Yet another question. I see the only real difference between this and the cortex is the 2 year tranny warranty. Is this something I should really be concerned with ? Is there a setting that is going to wast my tranny ?

As soon as I hear some response from you guys I am going to make my purchase. oooooooo oooooo My CAI just showed up at the house !Ok thanks in advance for your info.
