I am a heavy quad cab 4x4. Last time I went to the scales I think the old girl weighed in at around 5800 pounds IIRC.

yeah only cause you're in it mine is a tad under 6,000 and i thought for sure i'd weigh more than yours teach, since i have the heavy lift and heavier tires

it was mentioned before that you can use a DSP to get 0-60 times and stuff. how? I looked through all the menus and couldnt find it

Teach, Thought it was over 6000, 5800 ain't bad. Not sure about my topper but sure it's a couple hundred. I should weigh myself just FI.

E-Fan is next, but I am now thinking that I should get a Fastman TB now rather than later as the transmission mod and gear mod parts I have planned arn't cheap and probably can't afford those till later in the year (Gotta Build a 20x22 Garage first).

So I would appreciate ant feedback guys on the TB, for example are the gains comparable to say e-fan?

Go back in this thread and start reading with post #83. Truckin got good response with his, mine hasn't done so well. Good luck...

Yep, I read those and he lists it as a key mod.
I still can't get around your TB vs Converter problem, will read your posts here and Forgottens comments again. Thanks

5800 isn't bad, it is even a little lighter now that I took the bumper and hitch off. I just wish I could get around 5000 like some of these rc sb 2wd trucks can. Never happening for me.

You asked about the e-fan compared to the tb. I have both and they both made nice changes to my truck. The tb made the throttle response much crisper for daily driving and helped my times a little (but not much). The e-fan also had a little performance effect that I could feel and my mpg's jumped a lot when I put it on. If I had to pick one to do first, I would do the e-fan. I just like that it removed the clutch fan, helped with mpgs and freed up some additional power from the engine.

Don't get me wrong, I am really not having problems that I wouldn't buy the TB again and the TC is functioning exactly the way it should. It was the comunication with Bob at Moe's and Andre at Edge last Friday that fell through the cracks. Andre' called me the first chance he got and he is good with me. Bob has yet to call me or even to give me a status on the parts I ordered from him last Friday. I have dealt with Bob enough that I'm not stressed about the lack of comunication with him. Apparently he is stretched pretty thin.
I want to stop by the dealership before heading back home to get a new TB gasket and trans cooler. It is all fun...

AF are you just using the DSP or are you using the data log software on a laptop connected to your DSP? You need to have the laptop plugged into the dsp and have it connected to the truck for it to log times. Its also not really just a 0-60 time but you can use it for that. Basically it keeps track of the time you are logging, the speed that you are going and the rpm as well as a bunch of other chit too.

Yes I absolutely feel that it is a key mod to have. Bith logged times with and without it and seat of the pants prove that it improved my throttle responce and throttle sensitivity. It helps the best down low getting off the line and after that its not too much different although it is a little more peppy up top.

Sorry long-Post again, but really Thanks Guys, after my e-fan (ordered from Moes on 27 Mar) gets here I will go next with a new TB (Fastman?) as I need the "help down low" as Truckin says and better "Throttle response" to get me going.

Bob was supposed to ship e-fan last Thurs and a couple emails later (Fri & Today) awaiting confirmation. I will be patient, as I plan to get alot of parts from him but just antsy to know if its on its way, USPS is good and with Canada Post who knows.

I said it before but think my take-off problem for data-log times is crap due to the 355 gears. I know I need 4.56 and have since changed my mine from Auburn LSD to DTT after hearing it doesn't need friction Modifier (Hammers comment I think) and Ack the extra cost .

I will not Log again till the e-fan is in but Can anyone offer an explanation why it takes so long to go from 50 mph to 60 mph (that shift into 3rd?) because I thought 5.74 to fifty MPH was good even with the dog start but 8.39 at 60 mph was disapointing. However Weed's quoted 7.42 as comparison gives me a full second to go so we will see if e-fan-TB-gears-TQ and maybe sharadon VB will do it in the end. it may take some time to get there but in the end I will have the data.
