So I fell to the pressure and threw on the wally world pre made 6 gauge cable. I think it took me longer to program my presets back in. Anyway, idle in driveway is def solid now, not as much fluctuation as before. I will report back in a couple days if I notice any more.

So could this be my problem with my truck? 2007 ram 4.7L and i have a rough idle. RPM needle does not seem to move at all but you can feel the truck shaking. Also when at a stop light, if i let brake of slightly to roll forward, it starts jerking and rocking forward due to the idle. Then yesterday, was heading up to the mountains and was on a hill with an empty truck and i could barely stay at the 75mph speed limit. It was a decent hill, but other vehicles were kicking my ***. It seems to not have as good power now since i bought it. Also my tranny likes to shift randomly. Like taking off from a light at normal acceleration, and about 30mph it shifts before it should and sits at about 1500rpm. I lose all power and half to give it more gas to get it to down shift so i can get going again to reach the speed limit. I have checked everything. any suggestions? I am going to try grounding the TB and see what that does.

I don't think this mod will work for you. I believe the 4.7's have a plastic TB.

Well after reading through this whole post, I decided to try it out. 10 gauge wire from bottom right tb bolt to battery side fender bolt. Idle noticeably solid, and for those who are inquiring about mpg, I went from 12.5 to 13.4 driving habits the same; like a Mary. I reset after doing the mod and gave it about 100 miles before I even started looking for changes. I am on SC 87 tune running 89 octane and again driving like a Mary. Not gonna be wowed by the mod but everything just seems to work more efficient.

TB is not plastic on 4.7L. Any suggestions on what could be my problem?

You do not have "fly-by-wire", grounding the TB will not help you.

As far as your issues go, hard to say but start with the basics. Are you completely up to date on all of your maintenance? Has the throttle body and PCV been cleaned in the last 30k miles?

No, but I always look at the overhead comparing to what it read before. I know some will say that it is not accurate but it reads around the same ballpark when I do the figures so its not all that inaccurate. Driving habits and routes are the same for me on a daily basis. (groundhog day) Now if I compared mathmatical numbers to the overhead, then I can see the numbers not being accurate.

So is the consensus going to be that this is not the placebo effect but does indeed have some influence on idle /throttle response? Thinking about trying this mod after I figure out how to get to the TB without breaking stuff. Hammerz recommended it in another thread. Is this something "recently discovered across the world"? I mean the thread is fairly new here and people seem to have only recently become aware of it.
