I'd buy a Mopar trailer harness kit. For $100 you can do it the right way rather than run a wire and use an adapter..etc

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-Ram-02...277dc7&vxp=mtr

The OEnm is 7-pin. 6-pin isnt used much. You can buy a 7pin-6pin adapter which is fine because the wiring will be proper and not cobbed all up, ziptied and hanging all over.

Here's the OEM plug for trailer brake controller if the above doesn't come with???

That's the plug that goes into the factory wiring for a Brake controller additon. The ONLY way you can actually use that, is if you have factory 7-pin plug mounted in your bumper.
If you don't have the 7-pin mounted in your bumper, that means you dont have the factory towing option and therfore don't have the harness to plug your brake controller into. The harness is the link I provided above(HERE). You need it in order to use the pigtail end plug you bought, which was the other link I provided.
So, you can't find the OEM wiring probably because you dont have it....lol

It may depend on the controller and where it is mounted. My controller is very strict on the mounting angle. Did you follow the procedures to level the controller? Also, have someone apply/release the brakes and check the pins at the plug. For the life of me I can't remember which pins are the brakes. My truck has a diagram right above the plug.
