ive been promotable for the past like 2 years, but i keep failing pt tests... partly cuz im a useless fat-body, and the rest cuz i dont want to be at the bottom of the NCO foodchain. i only have a year and 7 months left, its not really that important. although my deploying unit is HECKA low on nco's... so i have a bad feeling im gonna get forced into a field grade promotion.

 

Best advice I got before basic was to blend in, don't do anything that will make you stick out of the crowd, good or bad. How's it work for army? In the AF they pretty much give you E-1 through E-4 (all by TIS), you don't have to test for anything untill you want E-5.

 

Yeah its the same. they can give it to you sooner if youre a good boy though

Yeah, you can put on E-4 6mo early if you get BTZ(below the zone). I was put up for it but never heard anymore on it. Not that it bothers me, I plan on doing my 4 and getting out anyway.
