Im going with either autopage or compustar when I get my security system installed, I think autopage because of the c3 module, its reputably better than lojack

But how will this help you when you go out shopping for Christmas? Or just going to the store in general?
Most cars can be stolen in under a minute. Some a little over. So you only have to leave your vehicle out of sight for that long before someone can take it.

Mine has the tint on all the windows so breaking the glass then requires you to cut the film if you can, then the alarm is a 2 way pager system, shock sensors on all 4 corners so if one wheel is jacked up the alarm goes off, starter kill. I still want one that I will work with my phone and has a gps tracker on it that I can check just in case but those cost a bit more.
The prior years I believe have SentryI not II. Also, it could be that there is more demand for parts off the 04's. there's a lot of factors that they look at for car thefts.

As for the tint stopping someone.....Once the glass is fractured it will collapse either in or by pulling it out.

Starter kill...Unless you installed it yourself and you cut that wire yourself..the starter kill is useless once the alrm module is cut or unplugged. And even if you did cut the wire, bypassing it is very easy.

2-way pager helps alot as long as your within range. This is where knowing your plate number helps as you can get the cops looking right away.

I have Telematics so the signal could be traced to find an exact location. It was a promotional package that i got free with my alarm purchase. came with 3years free.

The few times i actually go somewhere other than a small town is very rare so the 50 times i do a year besides at work...where the truck is parked in our ford lot...im not gonna worry about it.

Well that covers your home, but most vehicles are stolen/broke in at public locations.

Read what i listed in my first post. If you have all those things, the only way they'll steal your truck is with a flatbed.

You mention tinted windows being pulled out and bypassing the alarm system starter kill. Shatter proof windows, and fuel pump kill switch fix both those problems.

Shatter proof windows? Lol

I think that's a little too extreme.

Best thing you can have is good insurance that will back you up....even if you have a good alarm system think of all the damn damage they could cause to your vehicle...

I like the sounds of that system. A few questions though, hows does it let you know if the alarm goes off? Does it page you via the remote or phone call/text? What is the "Activate Car Finder Mode" and "Activate Anti-Theft Car-Jack Mode"? And can you look up your cars location or do you have to have the company do it for you? For $188 I think I may have to look into getting one...

Both my trucks also have "pain generators" installed inthem. It's an ear piercing siren for in the cab that is loud enough to make theives bail. I'm not sure if it's been outlawed yet or not but if you come across one I HIGHLY recommend it regardless! Pagers and sirens are great if you're around but these bad boys are probably the best possible ddeterant if they get by all the rest. They sound off at 120 - 130 dbs. I believe you can find them on ebay for about 15 bucks.

Also at the beggining of the thread someone asked why 97 F150s are high on the list... Most 97's had an issue with the ignition and you were able to start them without a key. Just grab the key slot and twist her forward.

I have a few questions. 1.) all dodges I have owned since 2001 have all had sentry keys 2.) I have had two vehicles stolen and I could care less, it seems that most people in the US(I live in Canada) are really worried about there vehicle getting stolen
