On my first tank I got 16.5 with 80% highway and 20% commuting. I was doing 70-75 on the highway. On my second tank (only commuting) I got 17mpg. My commute is about 9 miles one way on country roads. Never do more than 60mph typically. So far I'm pretty pleased with both the consumption and range (about 400miles between fillups). Mine is an 05 regular cab with 36k miles.
Wow guess I am lucky with my 2006 dodge ram 1500 QC 4x4. with a 6 inch lift ram induction air intake and flowmaster dual exhaust I get 18 normal andmy road trip average was21(trip from texas to california on I-20 to I-10). 95% of my miles are highway though. (living in texas)
We just got our 2008 two weeks ago, and have a little over 1000 miles on it, and the little readout over the mirror has been on average the whole time. I've been trying to keep it creeping up, and had it to 16.0 once. That's strictly around town. It's a little irritating, though, to hit the gas and run it up through first and second, and watch it go from 15.9 to 15.1! This is the first v8 I've had in anything in about 14 years, and it's hard to keep my foot out of it!
Update: My wife has been driving, and now it's gotten down to 13.9! That's average for the whole time we've had it! Since I can get it to go up from 15, I must be getting about 16-18 when I drive it. Since she has been getting it to go down from 15, she must be getting 12-14!
This is all with our new 2008 QC with 310hp 4.7, automatic, and 3.92 rear.

I just bought a 2008 1500 QC 4.7 auto. I started off with a full tank and drove 168.1 miles with about 70% highway (between 55 and 70) and 30% stop and go city driving. It took 7.5 gals to fill it up which comes out to 22.41 MPG. The truck has 190 miles total on the odometer so far.
