Hey ya'll. I just made the switch from a '98 F150 to a 2008 Ram 1500 ST QC 4x4 4.7L 6speed that I'm calling "Plain Wayne"

I've never owned an automatic and Dodge is the only one that still made a manual V8 half-ton in '08 so I started looking and found this one for $15k with only 13k miles. I brought it home on 1/2/2010 and have been scouring the internet for some mods. I'm looking at some Helo Black 835 17s with a set of 285/70-17 BFG A/TKOs to replace the trusty steel. I'm thinking after that I'll have to level it and was thinking the Rancho +2" coil overs in the Summit catalog make the most sense. After that I may attack the black grill with either a coat of graphite paint or a Chrome replacement. Then to assist the shorter folks (and protect the rockers), I'm looking at the Go Rhino! black steps. I'm also curious about the Rostra OEM Cruise Control kit as I'm commuting about 70 miles a day. Let me know what you all think about anything on this laundry list. It may take a year or better but I gotta dream.

Has anyone done the Rostra kit on an '06-'08? Was it plug-n-play or did you have to add the clockspring and splice? I'll take the bag out and take a look as soon as the temperatures reach above freezing again but I figured I'd ask.

Thanks. I was pretty skeptical when I saw the ad but once I saw it in person and drove it, I was sold.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the darkside. That Graphite color just begs for it. I'm just going to leave it black for now and see how it looks with some rims and maybe some black Go Rhino! bars on the side. If it still looks cheap then I'll see about color matching it.

Nice truck.

Nice truck.
ataboy, that's more like it. it would look better color matched, but the black is fine, and seeing as how you have a long list of mods, I wouldn't worry bout the bumper just yet.

and yes, the graphite looks great with black on it. I'm intent on getting rid of almost all the chrome on the truck and replacing with black.

Default 1st Mod

Just got my Helo 835 17x8s and 285/70 BFG A/T KOs mounted today. I think they're the perfect balance of black vs. machined. I may still level it but it's not killing me yet since this is such a huge improvement over the steelies. I'll probably do tint next though.
