Hi/low i believe is HID low with Haolgen high. Useless. Your lows will be brighter than your highs. Get the bi-xenons if you can.

Regarding 8,000k and 10,000k. You loose ALOT of light ouput going that high in the Kelvin rating. Sure it may be a nice looking blue, but 8,000k has ~30% less light ouput than stock 4300k and 10,000K has even more of a loss. i wouldn't reccomend anything over 6,000k.

To OP, as far as the "cheaper kits" go. If you are paying $50,60,70,80 even $100 for HID's, they are all the same quality. i don't care who you buy them from. Now, customer support if you have problems is another story.

ok if the 6000ks are brighter ill get them, but as for the hi/low beams go, i rarely ever use my high beams. in 2.5 years ive had the truck ive maybe used them 7-8 times. i have the silverstars now and they just arent bright enough for me. plus the stock fogs dont make a difference at all.

Here is an e-mail that i just got from HIDextra.com today which will explain everything :

Hi Michael,

Your bulb types is

High & low beam headlamp
H13 (9008)
Fog/Driving light
9006

You have two choices for the H13=9008 (hi/lo and bi-xenon)
hi/lo means your low beam is HID and high beam is Halogen because this bulb type has two bulbs in one bulb base to go from low to high beam.
And the bi-xenon means both your low and high beams will be HID.

If you get the bi-xenon, the relay will come with it so no additional capacitors needed.

if you get the hi/lo, you will need to request for a relay.

as of the fogs, no additional parts needed.

Below if the ordering instructions for our current special

Ordering Instructions:

1.) Go to this link to check on bulb type
http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/

2.) Then go to www.hidextra.com and choose the (BULB TYPE AND COLOR)

3.) Use Express checkout

4.) Input coupon code: valentine2010-m to get $18 off the kit price

5.) IF you are purchasing more than one kit, please do SEPARATE transactions for EACH kit in order to get discount on all kits.

Thanks~

Michelle

Yeah, the 6000k will def be brighter than 8000k and much brighter than a 10000k. Also, the 6000k will still have a distinct blue hue to them. going down to 5000k will significantly reduce tha amount of blue output and be more like a white w/slight blue like the silverstars put out.

DDM sells a 29 dollar kit. I have them on my fogs heads and some of my 6 lights behind the grill. Still working in finishing. I just installed them on the wifeys Honda Civic today and they work great on there too.

ok so after reading m-durhams post it looks like ill be ordering the 6000k bi-xenon kit for my heads and the basic 6000k kit for my fogs. if i read it correctly i DO NOT need to buy any resistors or anything like that with the bi-xenon kits. i hope i am correct.

yeah, 6000k are the best IMO. as i read on the hidextra thread you do need the compacitors. its something in 03 with the computers as i needed them for my truck cuz its an 03 also. if you are ordering from them then they will send you the compacitors with your lights for free. just make sure you request them

The Bi-xenon just means 2 light bulbs in one. has nothing to do with the flicker issue guys have. The flicker issue is because the HID's only draw 35w instead of 55w. You WILL need a relay harness with your headlights and HIDXtra provides that for free if you ask.
The foglights are NOT controlled by the computer so those are a simple plug'n'play.
FYI.. I ziptied my foglight ballasts right to the frame of the bumper. get's them up and out of the way from rain and road spray.

yeah i pmed tuner93 and he said he went with the hi/lo kit cause the bi-xenons didnt work with our 2003 computers (i dont doubt it since nothing else works with our pcm's either)and that HIDXtra threw in the harnesses with his order. just to clarify it i pmed michelle from HIDXtra just to double check.

whe you order them there will be an "additional comments" box. specify the year and make of your truck and that you need the compacitors.
