'07 4.7 exhaust
well my son just put a new exhaust on his Grand Am and it got me thinking. my truck sucks! this 4.7 is awful. i get 10.8 MPG in town and struggle to pull my 3000lb. trailer. i already bought a superchips programmer that got me to 12.87 MPG (on the performance 91 tune). this is with over a year of testing all uploaded to fuelly.com.
so what if i put a flowmaster muffler on it? the exhaust tubing looks pretty good so i'm thinking about leaving the stock tubing and just changing the muffler. will that help? or are the pipes too restrictive too? i won't change the whole exhaust. the truck only has 14,000 miles on it and i'm not spending $500 to replace something that is practically brand new that i will never recoup my investment from. i can handle spending $100 to change the muffler though.
any benefits to just doing that?
as soon as i can afford it i'll probably trade this one in on a brand new one with a Hemi but that might be a couple of years. i'm currently job hunting so it might even be in a month, really not sure.
