OK, so I bought my truck a few months back from a guy a few towns away from me, and how you see it (lift/tires) is how I got it. I added everything else....

What I am wanting to know, if how can I tell exactly what it has done to it. I know it says Fabtech everywhere, and its got a body and a suspension lift, but I wanna know the total package...and I cant get a hold of the guy anymore....

Also, I am getting 9mpg in the city and 9.4 on the highway. Im sure it has stock gears in it, what would you guys/gals recommend i put in there?

Im sure there will be more questions along the road, thats it for now....

Thanks,

RS

get 4.56 gears. thats your best bet for better mileage. As for knowing exactly what you have, there should be serial numbers on some of the parts. look around and give fabtech a call.

by the way, with those tires, dont ever expect to get anything higher than 10 city and 12 highway

An '02, I'm guessing you have the old, venerable 5.9L (LA360) engine. I had one in my old '98 second gen. I only had 5" of total lift and 35" tires on it and got 9 mpg city and about 12 highway (if I kept it under 70).

Very reliable engine (except for the plenum issues), not overly powerful at about 230 HP and terrible on gas, but if taken care of they last forever...

That is quite a nice rig you scored there btw! Your best bet for mpg's is prol to stick w/ the strat for cruisin, and use the truck for ridin dirty.

You should get us more pics of that truck and maybe a spec sheet! It is a fine looking rig for sure! 4:56 will be a must for mileage and power, it has to be a lil sluggish off the line!

4.7L is not a bad motor. Only thing you wanna watch out for is sludging internally of the oil and a clogged radiator.(not sure what years have the issue?)

I would cam it and re-gear it and you'll have a totally new machine!

Your best bet to tell what's done with it is have another Ram owner check it out. Preferrably one who knows WTF they are talking about.

Sweet looking truck BTW.
