'03 4.7L 1500 Replacement muffler recommendations
Hi all!
New member here, thought I'd start out by askin which muffler should I replace my OEM with? I want an aggressive sound.
I am looking at two brands at the moment but I'm not fixed on either. (Flowmaster 40 and Magnaflow) I am open to suggestions. I thought about going dual but the cost is a factor. I was thinking sub $150.
The tailpipe is 3" but the specs I've read online state 2.5" in and 2.5" offset
Product numbers would help greatly.
BTW: I live in Canada so if anyone knows where to get a deal .... Thanks in advance.

i have a 05 4.7 ram and the best and cheapest way out that i did was to order the muffler online, i got an areo turbine (at2525) which is loud. it cost $100 shipped. then i brought it to a muffler shop and had them cut the stock muffler and y pipe off and they made me a new better flowing y pipe + they welded the new muffler on all for $125. so it cost me $225 and my ram now sounds awsome and runs better. the 4.7 rams are 2.5 in 2.5 out.
On my 4.7 I had a one in and two thrush turbo muffler. Sounded great and was a lot cheaper than the magnaflow or flowmaster. Just dont go cheap on the pipe and hangers. I've had mine redone twice due to crappy pipe.
I got a Dakota 4.7L same as your engine and i got a Borla si/so exhaust, it has a growl at low rpms but at open throttle it sounds awesome. I posted a video clip here somewere, just do a search and you will find a lot of info. on the subject. good luck !!
