Fiberglass hoods can be very expensive to have properly prepped where as steel is pretty much a seal and shoot.
A high quality Fiberglass hood will cost you more than a steel hood. Period. Just be prepared to pay the body shop anywhere between $400-900 for prep/paint work for fiberglass.
Also, fitment of fiberglass won't as good as steel for the most part. It's like drawing straws. Not saying steel hoods will have perfect fitment either, but the molds are generally more consistent.
