I totally agree with you JusJay, the references I was making were to Sinus19, not the original posts.. Unless you read further down then I refer to the original post by BigTXRam, yes the CIA is way to short, and sucking nothing but hot air, it is also a 3" shorty Spectre filter, they do not have the cone insert on the front.

well the gas mileage has gotten better since putting it on. Ive gotten crap from some guys here at work about it to, but different strokes for different folks i guess. I dont see how its any different from the T set ups as far as it sucking in hot air, and i know there are very few people on here that are crazy about those but I like em, plus there different. I actually got the idea for this one from my neighbors hot rod. He has something very simular just metal instead of pvc, hes all about them being short and it seems that a few other of my hotrod buddies feel the same way, so I gave it a shot.

As far as how its connected, i picked up a little schedual 80 hose connector when I got the pvc thats threaded on the backside and has the barbs for the hose on the otherside. Drilled a hole and used pvc glue and threaded it in there, then sealed the outside and painted. used a pcv grommet from autozone for the mass airflow sensor, fit perfect.

Yes, it does have the cone insert. Its the same thing as the longer one, just a little shorter. It was 29 bucks vs the 39 dollar one you got.

Let's rethink this formula a bit. You are forgetting that with both of these air temps there is still more air flow. So to say less power would only refer to less power than the COOLER air not less power than stock.

I'm sure that was implied, but didn't want it to be over looked.

Also, if you like what you built then you feel good about your truck and that's all that matters.

If you could get your hand on this filter piece...it's RAM AIR waiting to happen.
