Default New Cheap Mod Works-

I decided to purchase from Ebay, this cheap MOD I saw and figured I would give it a shot. It is the "UTP", or Ultimate Tuning and Performance chip that adjusts the air/fuel mixture. It just attaches to the MAF wire that leads into intake tube before it reaches TB.

It was cheap, and I figured nothing lost if it didn't work, I didn't really figure it would do too much, but with my 90+miles a day commute, it was worth a shot to get a bit more juice from the Hemi.

At highway speed, 65-70, I was averaging about 18 mpg. After I installed this little thing, I am noticing a pretty decent improvement to 21mpg. If I go easy on the 'ol lead foot and keep the speed at just a tick below 65, with the cruice control on, (flat highway) I am averaging 22-23 mpg. Well over 430+ miles per tank. No improvement for around town, and I tend to stab the throttle at green lights.....hemi.

I have a stock intake for now, (all the fixings to build my 4" CAI in my garage with no time) with no other real mods.

20 bucks-not a bad return on my investment.

Is this another name for the "power wire"? If it is, you coulda made that for like 5 bucks yourself. It may not be the same thing but it sure sounds like it.

Sounds like those cheap ebay performance chips we see all the time that claim outrageous numbers.

I think also that you are only seeing MPG gains because you are more aware as it's on the motor now. So you may drive a little more conservatively. I've not heard that a power wire adds MPG's. I may be wrong, but I thought that the power wire only worked at WOT.

Yes it is a cheapo Ebay chip, the numbers aren't that outrageous and again- I wasn't expecting much. But my MPG have gone up about 3 or so, and I am driving the same as I always do-good 'ol cruise control. Can't afford another speeding ticket.

I didn't think I could do the power wire on a 2007, was looking around the site a while back.....
