New upper lower ball joints, struts and tires, WOW
I had a tire cupping problem so I decided it was time for new tires since they had a lot of wear and an alignment. I took my truck to a local shop that I buy tires from and have alignment work done. I asked the mechanic to check my ball joints since I knew Dodge has a problem with them. After a few minutes he walks back in and said, yes the ball joints are bad plus the left strut is bad. I told him to replace all ball joints and both struts. I checked the joints myself while he had it on the rack and there was play in them.
I told him to use Moog ball joints and he said that's all that he uses due to the problems with Dodges.
Anyway, I figured that I would run into this problem sooner or later. I have 74K on the clock. I wish that I had time to do the work myself. It would have been much cheaper. I wound up with a $440 labor bill and about 30% mark up on parts.

Dang it, I still still have vibration like a tire is out of balance. I just made a 296 mile trip to Houston from home and it drove me nuts. I don't understand this. I don't know if the balance job is bad or something else. I'm gonna check the U-Joints as soon as it cools down enough for me to crawl under the truck but it feels like a tire on the front. The vibration comes and goes so what's the deal? anybody have any suggestions?
