I've got a side exit, but its on the passenger side, so my sig pic doesnt help.

Side can be nice, but is often done poorly, so usually looks a little crappy.

Personally, I dont like the dual exhaust look out the back.

I have a single 3" ( I think...maybe 3.5") out the passenger side. Chrom tip about 1 foot in front of the tire. Any farther forward, and it looks goofy (to me anyway)

And yes.. get a CAI. If you dont wanna buy one, make your own. DIY is the way to go, and this site has the info you need for it. It should affect your throttle response, Sounds WAY!! better than stock, and why let the air leave your truck fast if it cant get in any faster???? To me, exhaust and intake go hand-hand.

I had the Flowmaster 50HD for a while. Sounded pretty decent but had a pretty annoying drone in the cab right at highway speed. Also rusted out pretty quick even though I'm in a southern (no salt roads) state.
It also is a pretty restrictive muffler, so IMO a CAI would be a waste of money as you are only gonna flow as good as your worst component and if you are not going to remove the stock "Y" pipe and use a muffler with a fairly poor CFM rate, the CAI would give you better sound, but that's about it...

Try to get a Magnaflow if you can......much better quality and sound. They are also straight through, so better flow rate.

x2 on the DIY CAI.
