Default power steering and brake failure at same time?

Does the power steering pump supply pressure to the break booster. I have a leak in my steering gear, lost all the fliud, lost steering and braking at the same time. It looks to me like the line comping off of the steering gear also goes up to the brake booster????

I assume you have a diesel? If so yes. The power steering pump is what makes the power brakes power. On gas motors it uses a vaccum pressure which is why the call it vaccum boosted. Diesels dont have a vaccum so they get the pressure from the pump, which is why its called hydra boosted.
