Default 4.7 Worthwhile Mods

Hello, I have a 2004 4.7 4x4 with K&N CAI, Flowmaster Super 44 True Duals, Superchips Cortex, and low temp thermostat. I have several ideas for my next mod, such as 4.56 gears, the high output cam, and headers. I have heard that the stock exhaust mainifolds on the 4.7 are close to the results of headers however.

If someone who has a 4.7 could give me an idea of how much headers helped, or point me towards some good cams or other upgrades, i would appreciate it. Im looking for power, but I dont want to slaughter my mpg. I also am not interested in anything over $1000 at the moment. Thank you

I would do a 08 intake manifold if I had the money. about 500 bucks for the manifold and bracket to run it. Another thing I would look into is an Electric fan. You could do both of these mods for under 1k bucks and id would help out a lot.

pick and pull the ford taurus two speed fan. also if you search it, tons of guys have done the install and there is most likely a DIY Guide.

Welcome to the site!

did the K&N intake and cortex superchip help a lot in speed and power? Im thinking about investing in both, but aren't sure its worth the money
