nice taillights! i got the same ones around January and I'm still loving 'em. I'm thinking about getting a recon 3rd brake light soon, but to hold me over I smoked my OEM one to make it disappear
I think if you got a led strip and darkened out the brake light up top you should be fine. The law here requires that a third brake light is visible and working, so that should work...
the only problem w/ those is when a bulb is burnt out on them it throws the whole look of the light bar off. Other than that though it would look nice w/ those tails.
